About Me

Daisy \da(i)-sy\ — Old English origin, and its meaning is the eye of the day in reference to the sun-like disc at the center of a daisy, surrounded by a ring of white petals, or as I prefer it, day’s eye or dayseye.

Hi, my name is Daisy. Sometimes on the Internet, I go by the alias, Dayseye. Why? Read the explanation up at the top. I’m enjoying the last year of my twenties, while living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area. I work for a former startup who just went public where I make news happen every day from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. In between those hours, I sleep, eat, hangout with my cats, and watch way too many movies/TV shows.

In 2008, I started this blog because I was able to have a life outside of work after quitting my first job out of college (read: I got a better job). In 2009, I was laid off from what I thought was a dream job (thanks economy), had a brief stint of “unemployment” before finding another job, wrote my bucket list and started trying to cross off something each year. In 2010, I got engaged and started to officially plan my wedding (okay, so I had mentally planning it in secret starting a few years earlier). In 2011, I started working for the best company ever, married my best friend and bought a house on a hill in Oakland (read: not the real Oakland Hills). In 2012, I started to nest whereby I suddenly became interested in home decor, and started to cross some places off my travel list (read: no babies yet).

Today, I find myself at point in my life where I’m feeling pretty content with life, but still overwhelmed with too many things that I want to do and not enough time. Hopefully, I can streamline my priorities and double down on my ability to be more efficient.
