Daisy \da(i)-sy\ — Old English origin, and its meaning is the eye of the day in reference to the sun-like disc at the center of a daisy, surrounded by a ring of white petals, or as I prefer it, day’s eye or dayseye.
So my “quarter-life crisis” wasn’t that much of a crisis. It was just a year in which I learned that I am a lousy blogger who was too lazy to come up with any clever to say about being 25 years old.
Offline, however, I did realize that I am at a stage in my life where there are really just three thoughts that plague me every day — being better with my money, getting married and my next meal.
- Money: While I’m neither a shopaholic in debt nor a cheapskate, I feel like it’s time to really think about how I can make more money, save more money and be a little bit smarter about how I spend my money.
- Marriage: Okay, so I’m NOT engaged or married at this point in my life. I’m just thinking out loud about what it takes to make a relationship into a real partnership. Oh yea, and did I mention that I’ve been not-so-secretly planning my big fat Chinese wedding in my head.
- Meals: The burning question that I ask myself each day is: what’s for dinner? And more importantly, what’s for dessert? I’m not a fanatical foodie, I just like to snack, watch Food Network and look for the next hole-in-the-wall restaurant to give my stamp of approval.
Funny thing is that I thought I would be tackling questions about my career at this point in my life. Fortunately, I’m in a good place right now and so my anxiety has gravitated elsewhere. Long story short, my blog is dedicated to collecting red envelopes (not literally), just a some weekly thoughts on the bullets listed above. Thank you for reading and I hope that you’ll come back again and drop me a note.
